Panther Leadership Academy

Panther Leadership Academy is a three-day retreat for students interested in an intense leadership development experience. The goal of the retreat is to build participants’ confidence in their leadership skills, so they can positively influence their personal communities. Each spring, a group of about 100 students is selected to participate in the annual retreat, which is held at a site off campus. During the retreat, students are divided into small groups led by a staff facilitator and student mentor. Over the course of the retreat, participants will engage in small group discussions, team building activities, skill building workshops and personal reflection. This is a great opportunity to network with other campus leaders and make new friends!

The 2016 Panther Leadership Academy will take place on May 4 through May 6 at Glisson Camp and Retreat Center in Dahlonega, Georgia. Applications are currently being accepted for both mentors and participants for the spring retreat. Applications for mentors are available online through February 12. Mentors serve as small group leaders for the retreat. They are responsible for leading small group discussions and facilitating one of the training sessions. Preference will be given to mentor applicants who have achieved junior status or higher. Participant applications are available online through March 28. Applicants will be notified on April 1 if they have been selected to participate in the 2016 Panther Leadership Academy.
