The Professional Panthers Series is designed to prepare you to transition from college to career. Have you ever thought about how you will sell your collegiate experience to a future employer? Are you ready to take on a professional role? Throughout the series, you will reflect on your collegiate leadership experience and consider how it has prepared you for a professional role. In addition, you will learn valuable tips to help you step confidently towards your future career.

Professionalism in the Workplace

The workplace is different from the college classroom. In this session, you will learn all you need to know to step confidently into workplace as a professional.

Marketing Your Strengths

“What strengths will you bring to this position?” This is a question that comes up in most job interviews. Are you prepared to talk about your strengths? In this sessions, you will learn how to leverage your strengths in an interview.

Networking

They say, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.” In this session, you will learn the basics of networking, so you are equipped to build your connections and advance your personal and professional goals.

Diversity in the Workplace

Today’s workplace is more diverse than ever. This workshop will prepare you to understand the challenges of a diverse workforce as well as the benefits of appreciating rather than tolerating differences.

Professional Etiquette

There are so many unspoken rules about the job search process. What kind of food is acceptable to order at a dinner? When can you talk about salaries? What is acceptable in negotiating a job offer? This session will prepare you to tackle the stickiest job search situations.

Technology in the Job Search

Once upon a time, applying for a job meant completing an application, sending in a hard copy of your résumé, and showing up at the workplace for an interview. Today, the job search process is happening in social media, Skype interviews, and other online processes. This session will prepare you to embrace the technology in the job search process.
