Chloe Palmer Receives Trotter Award

The fall 2016 Trotter Award recipient is Chloe Palmer, a marketing and accounting major from Lawrenceville, Georgia. With a heart for service, Chloe has been committed to mentorship throughout her time at Georgia State University. She recognized the mentors that influenced her success and sought opportunities to mentor others. Since the fall of 2014, Chloe has served as a mentor for the Freshman Learning Communities and the Panther L.E.A.P. leadership development program in University Housing. She also served as a mentor for the 2016 Panther Leadership Academy. In these roles, she was influential in helping connect students to campus resources and leadership opportunities.

Chloe has also sought opportunities for personal and professional development. She served as the publicity chair for College Girls Rock, Inc., the vice-president of the Black Sophomore Society, public relations director for Sapphire Society and in multiple roles within the Quiet Storm Steppers and Mentorship Program. Chloe is a member of the Honors Students Organization, Robinson Women in Business and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In 2016, she was inducted into the Collegiate 100 of Atlanta. Her breadth of experiences has provided her the opportunity to connect with students, faculty, and staff across the university.

In addition to her student involvement, Chloe has also served as an ambassador for the campus in a variety of roles. She served as a global ambassador for the Office of International Studies in the summer of 2015 and has been part of the Georgia State Ambassador Core for the Commencement Office. She also served as the student speaker at Georgia State’s Emeriti Luncheon in honor of Mrs. Angie Allen. This experience was one of the most memorable experiences of her undergraduate career.

While balancing all of her co-curricular responsibilities, Chloe maintained an outstanding academic record and plans to continue her academic career in the Masters of Professional Accountancy Program at Georgia State. Chloe is an excellent role model for all students and will be remembered by her peers for always putting others first and never giving up.
